2007 MTV VMA Recap
Britney Spears opened up the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards show with an okay performance. I didn’t like the outfit, well what little there was, but those were some slamming boots. Britney seemed a little stiff and some of her dance moves forced.I’m sure it was just Britney being nervous. Did I say I loved the boots?
Silverman did a few jokes. Some I got; some I didn’t.
Alicia Keys was stunning. I loved her dress and her hair. Rihanna won one of the first awards. Her dress was a little too long but it was a pretty color.
Fifty and Kanye squashed the rumors of a so-called beef during pre-show interviews as well as partnering to give out the Best Collaboration award, which Beyonce and Shakira won.
I love me some T.I. He had the crowd rocking.
Chris Brown is a very talented young man. I enjoyed his performance; although he did more dancing than singing
Rihanna came out during the middle of his performance and song a clip of one of my favorite songs this summer “Umbrella.” Chris danced to an old Michael Jackson beat. Chris B can dance no doubt about it.
“Nobody wants to be reminded they are getting older,” says Justin Timberlake referencing Chris Brown’s performance as he accepted his VMA. “Play more videos,” pleads Justin before exiting the stage.
Nicole and Lil’ Wayne performed together.
50 Cent rapped his song with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland…I actually like the song he performed. The crowd seemed to be into it as well. Just in time for those CD sales.
To my surprise Fergie won the VMA Female Artist of the Year. She wasn’t there to accept the award.
Kanye West and T-Pain performed together. It’s a close call between Kanye and 50 on their performances. Is that a sign of what’s to come on Tuesday? Hmmm.
Nelly holding his pimp juice
introduced Alicia Keys, who performed one of her new songs from her upcoming CD. I like the song and look forward to hearing the rest of her CD.
Mary J Blige & Dr. Dre announced the Video of the Year. The VMA winner was Rihanna feat. Jay Z for Umbrella.
“It’s not just the hip hop artists having problems…stop the violence in Rock n Roll,” Diddy says jokingly, right before a commercial break. He was referring to the so called altercation (i.e. fight) between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee.

So what did you think of the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards? Best performance? Worse performance? Who should have stayed at home?

Someone needs to force-feed Britney some Paxil and anti-anxiety drugs, cause the girl is going to implode when she reads all of the terrible reviews online.
So sad. Yet, so predictable.
Mia, I hate to say it, but if I was her, I wouldn’t surf the net today.
