Soft Focus UK with Crass founder Penny Rimbaud, hosted by Ian Svenious

January 13, 2008
In the first part of Ian’s chat with Crass founding drummer and writer, Penny discusses his relationship with popular music and declares his slight preference for the Beatles over the Stones, for at least “not shitting all over the Chuck Berry’s shoulder.”
In part two, Ian and Penny touch on the unseemly late-70s marriage of squatting with punk, Johnny Rotten’s logical inconsistencies, and the formation of EXIT and Dial House in the 60s.

In part three of their chat, Ian and Penny discuss the “brand image” of Crass as well as the scene’s worth of fellow anarchist bands they took in under the Crass umbrella. Penny also breaks down his feelings for Rave.

Parts 4 & 5 run this week on
