7 Questions with Author Shana Burton

November 3, 2008
What’s one thing (besides writing) that you enjoy doing?
I love to read and I also love to dance, paint– anything that allows me to express myself creatively.
What’s your favorite scripture and why? James 1:2-4.  That’s one I always refer to when the world gets to be too much.  It reminds me that having my faith tested makes me a stronger person in the end.
What television show best describes your life and why?
Girlfriends.  My friends and I act just like the characters on that show.  They have all pegged me as the “Toni” of the crew, but I don’t think I’m that much of a diva… on most days.
What is your most valued possession?  My spirituality.  Having faith keeps me grounded and sane.  Without God, I would’ve gone crazy a long time ago.  At the very least, I’d be someone’s cell mate.
What would your best friend say about you
I have two best friends.  For one, it would depend of how much I was paying her and for the other one, it would depend how many drinks she’s had.  They would both tell you that I’m a simple yet complex individual.  I think that describes all of us.
What does love mean to you?
God is love, and I know that He loves us unconditionally.  Loving and accepting a person like that is real love.  Unfortunately, very few people have mastered being able to do so.
What is your favorite outfit to wear and why?
There are all and none of my favorites at the same time.  Whenever I buy something to wear, it’s my new favorite thing until I buy something else.  I ordered a cute black dress last week, so it will be my new favorite outfit once it arrives.

Best friends London and Bernard jet off to Vegas for a night of parties and casinos to numb their broken hearts. What they don’t count on, however, is waking up next to each other the following morning with a nasty hangover and a signed marriage certificate. London and Bernard nix their plans to quietly and quickly annul the marriage when London’s grandmother uses a fast tongue and biblical principles to convince them to try to make their marriage work.
It doesn’t take the newlyweds long to realize that maintaining a friendship is a lot harder than sustaining a marriage.  Their constant bickering leads London to finding solace with Creighton, an old flame who’s trapped in a loveless marriage of his own. Their marriage is further strained when Rayne, a sexy new temptress, sets her sights on Bernard. After a night of passion leads to unintended consequences, London and Bernard seek God for answers and are forced to decide if loving someone means holding on to that person at all costs or being willing to let go.

Thanks Angelia for stopping by. I love asking certain questions because rarely do I get the same response.
