All entries must be in between now and 12:01 a.m. est 08/29/09.

Several winners will be chosen at random.

So much has how been said and written about the life and career of Michael Jackson that it has become almost impossible to disentangle the man from the myth. This book is the fruit of over 30 years of research and hundreds of exclusive interviews with a remarkable level of access to the very closest circles of the Jackson family – including Michael himself. Cutting through tabloid rumours, J. Randy Taraborrelli traces the real story behind Michael Jackson, from his drilling as a child star through the blooming of his talent to his ever-changing personal appearance and bizarre publicity stunts. This major biography includes the behind-the-scenes story to many of the landmarks in Jackson’s life: his legal and commercial battles, his marriages to Lisa Marie Presley and Debbie Rowe, his passions and addictions, his children. Objective and revealing, it carries the hallmarks of all of Taraborrelli’s best-sellers: impeccable research, brilliant storytelling and definitive documentation.

Contest open to US residents only. Contest ends at 12:01 a.m. August 29, 2009. Void where prohibited by law. The winners will be notified via email. If the winner hasn’t responded within 48 hours of the initial email with their shipping address, the next name pulled will be the winner.

    Loved One, Gloved One
    (For Michael Joseph Jackson)
My heart is heavy, as I watch footage of you gliding across the stage gyrating your pelvis,
At this moment in time this is bigger than the Duke, man, this is bigger than Elvis!
You made your living with words but there are no words to express the way the world feels,
No need to go into your discography because it encompasses valleys and hills.
In the 70’s, I remember coming home from school and putting on your albums,
These were the days before CD’s, MP3 players, Limewire, and IPODS,
Goodness, listening to your music was heaven sent directly from God!
Ooh wee, or should I say ‘hee hee hee’ about that pulsating falsetto,
That reached every country, mansion, island, barrio, prison, hut, village, suburb and ghetto!
Michael, your legacy is HIStory, DESTINY, OFF THE WALL, INVINCIBLE, BAD and most definitely a THRILLER.
You are the King of Pop the ‘Man In The Mirror!’
You ‘rocked our world¹ for over 40 years.
We ‘Remember The Time’ you told us that ‘We Are The World’ and to ‘Ease on Down The
Back in the day we wore your buttons and donned white socks and penny loafers,
Now here we stand today in shock and sadness but we know your pain is over.
Michael, we miss you and though you said ‘Heaven Can Wait’, ‘You Are Not Alone’, and “I Can’t Help It, “Human Nature’ is the reason that ‘I Just Can¹t Stop Loving You’.
We ‘Never Can Say Goodbye’ to you ‘Lovely One.’

P Diddy had very precisely described the genius of Michael Jackson: “He showed that you can actually see the beat. He made the music come to life. He made me believe in magic.”

Here I’ve tried to collect all notable tributes paid to Michael Jackson by peers:
